Light fixture - buying guide

Chennai now has a lot of modern light fixture stores which house light fittings for every budget and styles from classic to contemporary. Teynampet and Parrys corner have a crowd of such shops. There are other shops spread over the metro.

Personally, Teynampet area has prety much the goods what one would need in terms of look, price and accesibility. I got all my light fixtures here.

The best way is to visit a couple of stores, narrow down on the style and budget and then make the purchase. Some of the stores in Teynampet having a good collection are GALACTIC lights, CLASSIC lights (24337959), KAPOOR lights, and CREATIVE Lights.

There is a new store on TTK road called Light Art, very close the Park Sheraton. It seems to have an array of fixtures catering to both modern and traditional fittings.

Yellow light fixtures create a very soft look for the home. You could get some 3ft tubelights for reading purpose. Always buy backup bulbs.

Children's rooms could have multicolor fixtures for the fun look.
Bath areas could have both yellow and white light fixtures.
Bedrooms too could have yellow and white light fixtures.
Living room/ Dining room coiuld have a chandilier concept with a few painting lights.
